The semiconductors' nanoparticles absorption spectrum could has very complex structure, because band-band absorption is not only possible light absorption mechanism. Please, attach measured spectrum to your question for clarifying it.

Measure the absorbance spectra of material and use Tauc's absorption equation
a hu = B (hu- Eg)^n
Where a is the absorption coefficient, hu is the incident
photon energy and B is the constant. The band gap was calculated from the extrapolated straight line intercept of (a
hu )^1/2 versus (hu) plot , for indirect band gap .
(a hu )^2 versus (hu) plot , for direct band gap .
Extrapolated linear portion intercepts the energy axis (hu) and the interception point is considered as band gap.
