I am researching to develop my TCC and would like to know a clever way of attaching it. The thermocouple I'm using can easily withstand the temperature the oven will reach, but I don't know how to attach it since the structure it will support will also reach high temperatures (1300 °C).
I would place the thermocouple in a ceramic tube with two channels. For alundum ceramics (sintered Al2O3) 1300 C is a trifling temperature.
...and then attach the ceramic tube onto the rod by a Tungsten wire...
Gerhard Martens, if the furnace does not have an inert atmosphere, then under no circumstances should tungsten wire be used! It will burn within a few minutes. It is better to use ceramic rings. Or glue based on a mixture of sodium silicate and powdered Al2O3.
...you are completely right; in the presence of oxygen the tungsten wire approach will not work...
