I want to establish a causation in my research,emotional abuse and emotional neglect by working mothers on psycho social adjustment, one way is to apply such scale on children to identify the affected children,what should I do with the parents to assess them?
Can I ask why you would want to establish a causation on working mothers? Why not seek to find out what other variables might be involved from a broader perspective rather than focusing only one factor alone.
Actually there is much research on the other factors and i have observed that mothers who are educated,working and can understand their kids well abuse their kids emotionally after leaving their kids for 9 to 10 hours.I appreciate your advice can you explain further how can it be
I use Arnolds Parenting Scale (1993) which measurse for laxness, hostility/over reacitivity and verbosity.
There are a number of measures you can use. One is the Parenting Scale (PS) that measures the likelihood that parents will use negative discipline techniques with their children. Another is the Parenting Sense of Competence Scale (PSOC, Johnston and Mash), which measures parent's sense of confidence in parenting their children as well as their level of satisfaction with their parenting role. Then there's the Parenting Stress index (PSI), which measures sources and levels of stress associated with the parenting role that parents experience. Finally, the Eyberg Child Behavior Inventory (ECBI) measures parental perception of the frequency and severity of problem child behavior.
Hola Asma; me parece necesario que conceptualices el término de abuso respecto de las madres hacia sus hijos, porque una madre que se ve obligada a salir a trabajar y obligada a dejar a sus hijos sin su cuidado, es porque verdaderamente está teniendo una necesidad de ello, así que el abuso me parece que en esta apreciación estría en otro contexto.
Si es el caso que deseas saber sobre su actitud respecto de cómo la madre se concibe como abusadora, hay pruebas proyectivas que te pueden servir, sin embargo el manejo de ellas debe ser por alguien especializado como el Psicólogo Clínico que se dedica a psicodiagnóstico.
