If you instead posed a more general question (e.g., What statistical method would be suitable for determining whether two groups were equally represented in a sample?), you'd likely get useful suggestions.

It seems this is your class assignment and even though you may have suggestions from researchers, it is primarily your job to accomplish. However, since you have raised some questions you can adopt regression analysis, ANOVA, some statistical significance tests like chi-square for categorical variables and also compare means and may do t-tests or corresponding non-parametric tests, and so on for your assignment.
