I have tried to measure iBAT temperature in awake and anesthetized mice using a probe reader and a handheld infrared camera, respectively, following the administration of the beta3 agonist. In awake mice, the baseline temperature and iBAT temperature (measured after 30 and 60 mins following drug administration) are similar; there is no increase in the iBAT temperature. Using isoflurane, in anesthetized mice the iBAT temperature (measured after 30 and 60 mins following drug administration) decreases, and it becomes less than the baseline temperature.

I’d like your input on how to accurately measure iBAT temperature.
