How many scientific disciplines are there? In fact, there are numerous disciplines of engineering, far too many to list. Most are actually sub-disciplines of others, it may not be 100% complete, but then again, no list ever seems to be.

The basic canon of Classification Scheme goes to CIP Code 2010 (U.S.) and JACS3 (UK). But they have obvious pros and cons. Is there any better list?
