It all depends on the source of the extraction

Dr. Gugfran,to isolate oil-soluble antibiotics non polar organic solvent is used. By using a solvent extraction method. In this method the broth treate with organic solvent like chloroform, then the dissolved antibiotic is then recover using various organic chemical means.
