Please, i need a help. If i have omega3,6,9+ingrediants in soft gel capsule (each capsule contain 3600mg) and thr recommended dose for human from 3000 to 5000mg daily.how much dose can i give it to rats daily?
Capsule contains( omega 3=1360,omega6 =328,omega9=268,the remain is ingrediants).

I am not an expert in this field, but the most logical thing would be to adjust your dose to body weight, assuming an average adult to be 75 kg and next weighing your test animal. Next calculate the fraction (weight rat in kg)/75 and multiply this with the dose for humans.

1kg➡(?)=(0.8)
So each rat weight 200g take 0.16mg .but is it true to applied 0.16 to any substant whatever the concentration? I dont think so. May ism wrong ?. I found other tabel according to the surface area.this table when i applied the equation of it i dont found that the result from table one (0.16) equal the result i obtained from second equation .So, what can i do ?.

Hmmm.. yes, you have a point there. Is the recommended dose you give for each compound or for the capsule? You need to have the recommended dose for each compound I guess. Then, I reasoned that the substances would distribute evenly over the body weight, so a factor (75 kg/0.2 kg =) 375 would apply for reducing the dosage of each compound.
Surface area would imply that the compounds distribute not over the total body weight but over the intestines or total intestinal surface. For those alas, I have no number how human compares to rat. Important is what does your study want to proof, which mechanism or action? If you know that you can define the target where the compound should act and then make the comparison how this target area for a rat differs from a human.
