you may use the pellet to investigate the diet of the deer. Also the distribution of the deer can be estimated through GPS position of the pellet.

Population size estimate for white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) in the "Cayo Saetia" protected area. In order to estimate the white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) population size living in the protected area of "Cayo Saetia", two inventory procedures were developed, these were the line-transect method and a variant of the dropping group counting method. Both methods yielded an average population estimate of 2700 animals which, presumably, are unevenly distributed within the two sampling habitats.
