Given there seem to be many problems facing society, global climate change, over-population, resource depletion, war, famine, political unrest, and many more, in your opinion how can the academy best help society?
I am particularly interested with global climate change, child welfare, resource depletion and environmental pollution.
1. Keeping a personal blog
I keep a personal blog where I engage society on these topics.
2. Guest blogging
Furthermore, I write guest blog posts on non-academic website that have a non-scientific audience on such issues. At the moment, I am preparing a four part series on climate change set to be published by a Christian magazine.
3. Social media
Social media offers an opportunity of addressing these social issues. However, it can also become an ideological echo chamber.
