Along with a colleague, I am getting a book proposal together for a collection of chapters on health and well being research in custodial settings. The book will focus upon different approaches to conducting research in this topic within this setting. We are looking for authors. Are you interested?

Paul,
I co-authored a paper some years back in the field of ecology and have since moved into property services. In the last 5 years in particular I have worked in property services for a public school district in New Jersey, and now work in a public school district for children with autism. Obviously, these fit the same category, but are worlds apart from a technical aspect. In my current position, I am part of grounds and maintenance, but do perform in full on custodial work on a semi-regular basis when I am not outside or working on energy management. What type of research are you interested in? I am more so curious as to what your compilation of chapters aims to discuss. What types of topics within the property services/custodial field are you interested in? While I am not currently performing research nor writing on my professional work, I am intrigued by what you are attempting to piece together regarding the health and well-being aspect of the work/environment.

@ Paul M.W Hackett. Doing Philosophy has really exposed me to different facet of life. I have written on topics like Metaphysics, Analytic Philosophy, Ethics, Epistemology, African Philosophy and Social and Political Philosophy. Am currently working on some articles on African Philosophy, Political Philosophy Conflict resolutions( peace building), and book chapters as well. Looking at the project you Proposed on Health and Well being research I believe I can write something on it if I see the proposed chapters that are involved. Dear Miriam, thank you for this information. I would be very interested to receive a chapter proposal from you. From what you say I would be interested in a chapter on something like the application of philosophical research and scholarship as an approach that may be used to understand prisoner well-being and health. Would this be possible?
Matthew, Thank you for your response. I/we are trying to bring together a series of ways of looking at and investigating health and well-being within custodial settings. The emphasis of the book will be on the different types of insight that are afforded by different approaches. Best, Paul
