Naturally, males are seen to be more attached to their mothers whiles females are attached to their fathers. In the same situation male teachers are seen to be given more consideration to female students than their male students. How can a teacher create an atmosphere where equal attention is given to all regardless of sex.

The excellent teacher will value all students. No matter what gender, social status, etc. For this to happen the teacher must be a person of solid ethical principles and aware of this issue (being fair) always, in and also out of class. This is why becoming a teacher was demanding of utmost respect in many ancient cultures. Teaching and learning cannot take place in a corrupt environment hence the teacher's impeccable ethic is alawys a "must have" characteristic in this profession.
teachers need to be freethinkers and liberate all students in the class. show them that you value them and make sure that you consider every one in the class. inspire them and show them some hidden knowledge and promise them guidance.

A student is a student NOT a girl or boy student. I agree with @Bruno that the teacher must be a person of solid ethical principles. In addition a teacher must have open mind and integrity to be fair to the students.
I prefer to use interactive teaching methods that the students are involved in the teaching process.
