If the concentrated HCl is taken 37%, then 0.83 mL of this acid is needed to make one liter of 10 mM solution.

Why should we use acid (HCl) in the preparation of ferric chloride solution?

There are different techniques for that in which FeCl3 just solved into water without adding HCl, while some uses acid.
