The clamor for a lightweight material solution in many applications today, especially in automotive and aerospace industries, has drawn the attention of many researchers to research more on Al-matrix composite material. Unfortunately, the low operating temperature of Al-MMC (≤400ᵒC) has limited the application of this material in many other applications in automotive industry. My question: how can the maximum operating temperature of Al-Si alloy reinforced with SiC particles be raised beyond 400ᵒC? Any ideas or possibilities!
