I wonder if someone could recommend me literature on the relationship between anaphylaxis and asystole. I suspect severe anaphylaxis causes distributive shock due to an increase of membrane permeability. As a consequence, there is a decrease of intravasal volume. According to the literature, anaphylaxis can be linked to different forms of arrhythmia.

I am familiar with a case of asystole following severe anaphylaxis, i.e. asystole within seconds of anaphylaxis. I was not able to find such extreme cases in the literature, though. Is anyone familiar with similar cases? Alternatively, can anyone explain the pathomechanism behind asystole immediately following anaphylaxis?
