Is there any comprehensive examination on the four sub-competences (linguistic competence, sociolinguistic competence, discourse competence, and strategic competence) which form the communicative competence and all the approaches (CLT, TBLT, GBA, etc.) which accompanies them and why?
As we know that there are basically four core sub-competences (linguistic competence, sociolinguistic competence, discourse competence, and strategic competence), although some other experts add or combine some sub-competences, which form the communicative competence. Unfortunately, so far I do not find any comprehensive examination on the applicability of these sub-competences into practice, not all of these four sub-competences at least.
Any information would be highly appreciated.
