Can we build a 90% efficiency wireless power transformers using state of art materials?
The problem is that it radiates everywhere. If you use wires, it goes where you want it to. You can change it to a very high frequency (HF, microwaves, light) and focus it better, but the back of the envelope calculations always show it to be economically unwise. If you had to do it, we could do it. I'd want to get paid up front, though.
Thanks for your suggestions, James. I was presuming that there would discussions on the efficiency part. Of course the coils will be driven at resonant frequencies ie HF but somehow I am not happy with the answers from net. Practical designs won't cross such high efficiency at a considerable distances, so where does all this energy go? (in physical terms)
