What is the chemistry you use for ZnS etching, feature size, etch depth? If it is something fluorine and in the micrometre realm, perhaps a resist from AZ resist family (they come in various flavours in both positive and negative tones) could be an option. Afterwards, the resist can be either removed in acetone (works ok for positive resist, but cross-linked negative resist might not be dissolved in acetone), or in AZ remover formulation, which is, I think, alkali-based.
