We are using the biorad cleaning concentrate, as recommended by biorad. It is necessary to clean the ief apparatus (focusing tray including electrodes, rehydration tray etc) properly after each use so that the next time we run the ief, it will be not affected by carryover contamination. The mineral oil is quite sticky and can't be removed with just water. We are concerned that the price of the cleaning concentrate is too expensive, but worried to try other cleaning agents which may spoil the IEF apparatus.
