I have run the levulinic acid standard through hplc-refractive index detector with column and detector temp at 63 and 50 degree respectively. Mobile phase used is 0.005 M H2SO4 at flow rate 0.6 mL/min, injection vol 10microL. I also add the internal standard.

At first glance, I would say you are out of range of the detector - looks like saturation (I assume you ask about the shape of a huge, flat top peak). Not sure if that's your levulinic acid or its solvent (in case the solvent is water, I would not expect such huge peak, as it would be similar to solvent of your eluent (H2SO4)). I rather suspect it's the huge signal of your levulinic acid and the small peak at 16 min is your internal standard...
I would play with amount of the sample and its dilution. More, it would be good to get both peaks of comparable size
