Agree; I do recommend PTFE too as material membrane, then 0?22 or 0.45µm depending of the instrumentation you will use.

Do not forget to check that the filter does not fix your markers by using spiked samples for instance.

I normally do not compromise on such apparatus and I would recommend Millipore syringe filters for the purpose. There are several other companies making these cellulose based filters and may be they are atleast, as good as the ones made by Millipore Inc. if not better than that.
