I'm measuring ionic conductivity of a polymer solution by simple conductivity meter.it gives average ion concentration. But in my system there is a gradient in ion concentration throughout the solution depth. Can you suggest me how to measure conductivity in layer by layer for the same system.
How large is the solution depth?
You may think to two approaches:
1. by vertically and slowly moving the probe
2. by extracting samples from each layer (by using a syringe): the measurement will be offline.

The initial height of the homogeneous solution is 5mm. with time the height slowly decrease as the volatile component evaporates and the concentration changes with time and throughout the thickness. I want to measure conductivity (as a function of ion concentration) at different layer at the same time. Or is there any way to measure concentration of different component in a solution with time and throughout the depth.
