Hello! During my Master and PhD I have always had a problem to evaluate the intensity of my Western Blot bands. It was always a software available on one computer in the basement of another building working only with particular subform of TIF which can be scanned in the third building. So my husband and I have come to the idea to make online free software which can evaluate my western blots and help people dealing with the same issue as I did for years. The idea is to have free, easy access software which reads variety of formats and does not save any user data.
I would appreciate anybody trying it out and giving us feedback how to improve it.

It is very easy to do with ImageJ software.
Open your unsaturated western blot image using Image J. Using the box ROI make a box around the first band and click 1. Move the box to the next band click 2. Continue moving the boxes and clicking 2 as many times needed (Image J will only allow you to do so within the same array). When done click 3. A bunch of curves representing each band will be produced. Use the line tool to draw across the bottom of each curve and then using the magic wand click in the area of the curve.
Repeat this with a loading control to normalize your measurements.
Image J is very easy to use but if you want analyse western blot results you can use Image studio lite Version 5.2 for western blot analysis. Just register and download a free copy from the link given below.
