I need a guideline for establishing very large broiler farms and the facilities required, emphasizing the size of the houses and the appropriate spacing of the houses from each other.
Broiler farms need to be built in clean, well-ventilated places, away from cities and busy areas. Each chicken should have about one square foot of space to avoid overcrowding and improve growth and health. For very large farms, buildings are usually very long and wide, often measuring around 40 to 50 feet wide and up to 400 feet long.
Good broiler houses have strong concrete floors, low walls, and wire mesh for air movement and safety. The roof should prevent rain from coming in, and lighting should be set up for proper warmth and clear visibility. It's important to keep enough space between poultry houses, usually at least 15–20 meters, so that air can flow and diseases do not spread easily.
All equipment should be clean and working, including feeders and water systems. Only bring in healthy, vaccinated chicks from trusted hatcheries, and make sure the houses and equipment are always disinfected to keep the chickens safe from sickness.
Shweta Dwivedi I am very grateful for your answer. I would like to know whether, in the leading countries in the broiler industry, there are specific guidelines for establishing broiler farms with very high capacities, for example, three million birds per breeding season?
I mean farms that operate as a complex, close to each other and in connection with each other.
