I want to know if is possible to use X-RAY Diffraction to detect pollutants as pesticides or heavy metals and is it true that the X-Ray detect only in the scale of 0.01g which means that the pollutant must be quantify in this level. Thank you
Sayef... Unfortunately, the XRD is specialized with the detection of crystalline compounds and preferably inorganic compounds. You haven't mentioned whether you're analyzing soil or water. Heavy metals are better detected by XR fluorescence for such low concentrations. Otherwise you need to mineralize your soil samples with acids to extract the metal ions and then go to atomic absorption....Good luck
