I have not tried, but I can share an article that will be helpful.
Most stripping methods tend to affect tissue integrity or slide adhesion. There is a possibility that the stripping technique may alter the target confirmation resulting in decreased signal intensity. Nevertheless, I have attached a paper below in which the investigators have evaluated several antibody stripping techniques. They have come up with a technique that would result in a complete, efficient, and reliable stripping of a broad array of antibodies while preserving tissue adhesion on the slide and maintain similar levels of antigenicity in FFPE samples, across multiple rounds of stripping and staining.
They have found a protocol using β-mercaptoethanol and SDS to be most reliable for stripping antibodies across multiple rounds of staining and minimizing the odds of cross-reactivity, while preserving tissue adhesion and antigen integrity in tissue. Make sure that you carry out proper validation and optimization of antibody stripping steps.
