I am designing a teaching proposal to introduce wetting phenomena and I cannot find published questionnaires to be used as a pre test to access students' pre existing knowledge, ideas etc. I 've tried Scholar, ERIC, physport and Scopus to no avail so far (search terms: wetting, education, questionnaire, pre test, students'ideas, nanotecnology, biomimetics, contact angle, hydrophobicity/philicity, Lotus effect and combinatin of the above). Is it possible there aren't any?
Efthymia Arvanitou Efthymia, the first don't use "wetting" -- it has way too many meanings. And the most common have nothing to do with the science. Refine the question. Use words directly related to your question. However, you might find that designing one your self teaches you what you want to know and how to teach others.
Lee Clawson thank you for your answer. Desinging my own questionnaire was my first thought but my supervising proffessor wants to make sure there isn't anything similar in the literature before I do.
Efthymia Arvanitou Efthmia, Replace wetting and add one at a time the words contact angle, hydrophobicity and Lotus effect. I would also search for a teachers course syllabus. By. interpreting a syllabus you could derive a questionnaire. In addition duplicate searches in Google Scholar.
