CT and MRI normal. Sensory returns normal 2 to 3 days later .Motor 2/5. CSF analysis shows high protein content. Are there any possible explanations?

Has the patient improved?
did you perform only brain imaging or spine MRI as well?
My 2 guess would have been:
1. Multiple sclerosis (high protein in CSF, age, start after epidural injection)
2. Todd's paralysis but the patient should in this case have recovered rapidly after onset of symptoms...
