Louis, fascinating results, it appears. What is the profile of your light beam? How much of the area between the masses does it cover? Does it matter? Can you report on dependencies on laser intensity? How close do the masses have to get together in order to induce the amplitude of torsional motion you observe? Is there room in between? Is it imaginable to have some evacuated space between the masses to have the light not propagate through air at all between the masses?

The light beam is from a 1.5 red laser; it expands 30 degrees to form a laminar beam.
In order to have the maximum effect, the beam is loated about 3 or 4 mm from the moving mass and has close to maximum height compare to the brass mass. Thus it is only blocking what is coming parallel to the ground. Since the laser has a fixed intensity, I couldn’t compare the effect with the laser. However, by using ordinary lamp shining in a steel box outside the apparatus, it was possible to view a shielding effect horizontally. The only possible stuff going though the stainless steel box would be neutrinos or very high frequency light like gamma rays or gravity something. I know there were no gamma rays. So light was probably blocking some of the gravity something.
At first, there was a fixed mass and one mass at each end of the torsion pendulum. The distance between the mass varied close to on cm at a period of about 6 minutes. When the light was passed between them, without touching any, the moving mass always gets closer to the fixed mass and it return to original position as soon as the light was cut off.
The setup is too big to have a vacuum chamber. It is probably not needed because the effect was the same when the light beam was outside the chamber. Many parameters were examined like static electricity, static air molecules, browning air movement, temperature rise, coriolis effect. All were rejected as a cause of the effect observed.
Even with a two masses pendulum turning freely in the basement and finding a stable position between the concrete walls, a beam of light always change the oscillations and the pendulum finds a new position.
I have many observation graphs available to the public. My friend is an electrical engineer doing his PHD in physics. He was able to calculate the force taken out from gravitational attraction between the 2 masses. It blocked about 3x10–14 joules only but is detectable.
Hope someone can find a good explanation of that because as professor Ruben, phd in physics said there is nothing in present theory to explain that.
