Jurassic deposits of the Siberia and NE Russia are characterized by numerous glendonite occurences, especially widely distributed in Upper Pliensbachian and Bajocian-Bathonian. Did anybody know any information about the coeval glendonite occurrences in Northern America? I know only two briefly mentioned records of "stellate nodules" in the Kimmeridgian of Northern Yukon and Mid Volgian of Prince Patrick Island
in a few weeks, i will know, if we have glendonite in the Kimmeridgian and Tithonian of Mexico. An expert in Jurassic glendonite occurrences is Hartmut Jäger from the Institute of Earth Sciences in Heidelberg.
Mikail - The Canadian Arctic (Beaufort Sea) did not exist in the Jurassic. The opening of that sea occurs in the Early Cretaceous. The marine area that was their prior to the Arctic was either subducted or compressed into the Brooks Range of Alaska when the North Slope area (which rifted from the Banks Island area in Canada) encountered the rest of Alaska. There are documented glendonite occurrences in the Pebble Shale of Alaska, but that is Early Cretaceous in age.

I am not aware of glendonites in Alaska. At one stage I closely examined Cretaceous cores from the North Slope and related areas but without success.

I don't know about North America, but glendonites have recently been found in upper Pliensbachian sediments in Northern Germany from the Shandelah core. See Teichert, B.M.A., Luppold, F.W.
