We are aiming to use pragmatism for conducting research in the field of Occuaptional health and safety. I understand this is the preferred theoretical framework for conducting mixed-method studies, but am wondering if it does offer opportunities for other types of research as well.
There is a very basic introduction in my textbook, 'Basic Research Methods: An Entry to Social Science Research'. As pragmatism is essentially about goal-setting, I see why it couldn't apply across a range of methods.
I agree with Gerard about the importance of goal setting in pragmatism, and the relevance of this in social science more generally. Here is a copy of a paper I have written on the broader value of pragmatism, beyond just mixed methods.
