The national utility Eskom has been converting (since 2017) its OCGT power stations to also run on natural gas after the discovery of gas fields. From the historical data given by BP's Statistical Review of World Energy it seems like South Africa used gas to generate electricity into the grid in the period 2007 - 2014, up to 3.1 TWh in the year 2014. As far as I know, Eskom's peaking power plants have been running on kerosene and diesel, is there another power plant that has been using gas, that I might not know of? Thanks in advance!
