I'm planning a narrative inquiry about diminishing school motivation and I have found the concepts of SDT intersting and useful to understand the phenomenon. Any opinions about how the frame of SDT could suit with narrative inquiry method or to interpretation of narratives, are wellcome!

Sounds reasonable, I was thinking much like the first part of your answer. Focusing on things, that are perceived as obstacles in the narratives, might lead me more deep into my research puzzle and help to identify causalities. I was planning that I might use critical event analysis, added with an idea of critical conditions and critical situations. That may be close to the idea of obstacles found in narratives, but I think 'obstacle' is more near what I need here.
I don't know if it's been done specifically with Self-Determination Theory, but there are coding systems for a variety of motives. Personality researcher Dan McAdams and anthropologist George DeVos developed pretty comprehensive ones that cover a range of agency-related and communion-related motives. And of course there are the many systems developed for individual motives summarized in the Handbook of Thematic Content Analysis. a hefty tome that also provides guidance on how to develop coding systems for TAT stories and other narrative material.
I found a good correlation between the three basic needs ( Autonomy, Relatedness and Competence) and the psychological Resilience so i will improve the basic needs by using an educational program to improve the resilience among schools students !!

Dear ,I used the scale of basic psychological needs in many of my research.It is a good instrument and I found the relation between BPN and intrinsic motivation, academic resilience, goals structure,academic optimism.I propose to you a causal model.
