I had similar problem when I used biomass burning emissions. The code has a bug, that was solved in version 3.8. You should go inside the chem code, and to replace in the module_chem_plumerise_scalar.F routine at line 610 the “REAL :: DELZ_THRESOLD" with " REAL :: DELZ_THRESOLD = 100."

Hope this will solve your problem, it worked in my case.

Thank you for your prompt reply!. I just checked out that DELZ_THRESOLD = 100, then it would be not the issue. Actually, the model hangs up just when I set chem_opt to 132 (CB05+MADE/VBS) and works fine for other gas-phase and aerosol chemistry modules (e.g. MOZCART). What WRF-Chem model version do you use?. Is the version 3.8 available?

You should check if the forehead mentioned mechanism uses biomass burning emissions. I am using v3.7.1, but a different chemical mechanism. And the version 3.8 was released some time ago.

Hi Angel, I also encountered the same problem recently. When I used Chem Opt =132, the mode always stopped without any reason. Did you solve it then? What causes this problem?

The only way I found to solve it was setting the chemdt to higher values. This kind of model run issues (hanging with no error messages) are often related to the time for chemistry. Try setting chemdt=0 which sets the chemistry time step to the same as the meteorology time step.
