Does anyone have experience with hardy, weather-proof housings for Bushnell game cams? We are using Bushnell 24MP low glow (model: 119936C).
We have several Bushnell game cameras deployed along the coast of Southern California with the target of monitoring lagoons (targeting breach events of ocean flowing into lagoons). Our cameras have worked perfectly in multiple habitat types, but it seems like the proximity to the ocean has been giving us issues potentially due to salt spray. We’ve been experiencing battery drain, malfunctions (cameras not taking all photos scheduled to be taken), and one of our cameras won’t turn on any more. The cameras are all at least 200+ feet away from the high tide reach, but I think the salt spray has been too much. (we had to cut the padlocks we used to secure them since they rusted over).
my ideas are ranging from wrapping them in heavy duty trash bags to buying a bunch of pelican cases and cutting out a window to silicone in a glass/acrylic window.
any advice would be appreciated.
