It has been proposed that increased graphene interlayer spacing increases lithium ion charge capacity ( DOI: 10.1021/nl800957b ). In addition, in a recent conversation someone told me that graphene sheets tend to stack together during electrochemical cycling, which reduces performance. Is anyone aware of any studies that measured the graphene stacking distance as a function of electrochemical cycling?
