Altough I already know that click reaction is not pH sensitive still wonder if any reasearch with click reaction in acetic acid solution was made or not.
Obviously, such a base (if needed) may be used sodium / potassium acetate. An ideal catalyst is Cu (I) supported on a weakly acidic polyacrylate resin. Its preparation will be published (Kore NS, Pazdera P. New Stable ligand-free Cu (I) Catalyst Supported on Weakly Acidic Polyacrylate Resin for Green C-N Coupling: Synthesis of 4-R-Aminopyridines - article prepared for Catalysis Lett. Its use for Click Chemistry will be follow.
Catalyst preparation (according to Pazdera, P.; Zberovska, B.; Nemeckova, D.; Datinska, V; Simbera, J. Catalyst based on metal complex for chemical syntheses and process for preparing thereof. Patent CZ305277 (B6) 2015-07-15):
Noromite D113/ Purolite C104 Plus in Na+ form in amount 75.0 g was stirred in water (300 mL). Cupric acetate monohydrate (49.9 g, 250 mmol) or the equivalent of water soluble cupric salt was added during 30 minutes. Then the aqueous phase was decanted and the solid washed twice with water (300 mL). The resin was then stirred for 30 minutes in a water solution (250 mL) containing hydroxyl ammonium chloride (29.9 g, 430 mmol) at 50 °C until the blue color of resin changed to white. After that, the solution was decanted, the solid residue washed twice with water (250 mL) and twice with methanol (25 mL). The copper content determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry was approximately 2.2 mmol of Cu/1 g of catalyst.
Supported Cu(I), and some other catalysts may be obtained from TauChem Ltd.,
