We reported the synthesis of crystalline bismuth oxide hydrate, but still have not determined its crystal structure.
I don't fully understand the question, maybe so do all other readers: do you want to distinguish between the hydrate and the hydroxide or you want to find out which space group symmetries they both have?
Dear Roman, simply I want to know if anyone dealt with a crystalline bismuth hydroxide (or bismuth oxide hydrate). According to the literature bismuth hydroxide is amorphous phase. But we have a material with such chemistry in a crystal form. And finally I am interested to obtain the full structure solution of this phase:)
Dear Vladimir - there are several works that have appeared in the apst years with crystalline Bi catalysts, at least Bi was added to some crystalline materials. It is the question whether the Bi drives the crystallinity, or whether Bi is driven ...

Dear Dirk, thanks for your reply and suggestion. We have pure Bi(OH)3 crystal phase (according to EDS and chemical analysis). And we have good powder XRD data of this phase. The problem is that I don't manage to obtain the full structure solution for this phase using XRD data. Most likely because I'm no specialist, which knows Shelx software on high level. That's why I asked the question:)

maybe that it can help to do some anomalous diffraction (i.e. above and below the Bi L3 (or any other) absorption edge - this would switch off and on the (or reduce and highlight) the contributions of Bi in the structure, and you may be able to refine the rest of the structure (especially the light atoms) easier?
