In 1975, I postulated that a "reverse translatase" in antigen processing macrophages was responsible for the creation of immune RNA and was an integral part of the RNA-Protein complexes detected in these cells. This RNA would code for the hyper variable reactive sites of immunoglobulins. This would explain the ability to make antibodies to new antigenic structures that natural selective pressure woul not encode in our germ line.
