A very good book to start with is "Geometric Morphometrics for Biologists: A Primer" (see the review at http://life.bio.sunysb.edu/morph/books/macleod_review_2005.pdf)
And a very good (free) software is MorphoJ (http://www.flywings.org.uk/morphoj_page.htm) or the geomorph R Package (https://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/geomorph/index.html)
Have fun (may be not at the very beginning ;-)
Best regards
