I have read recently that DDM (dodecyl maltoside) can crystallise when one tries to obtain crystals of membrane proteins. Unfortunately, I've not been able to find any pictures, only a few descriptions here any there. I was wondering if maybe anyone can provide me with a picture or two?
I have had this problem and yes it can crystallize. I'm looking for pics now, but it's been several years since I used it. I do remember that they looked like muffins though. I'll look some more and get back to you if I find any.
Couldn't find any pictures, I think they just aggravated me so bad I didn't want to remember. I can say that I was using 0.2% DDM in the drop. Let me know if you need anymore info.
