My main doubt is about the K gain calculation of the saturated controller u=-K*sat(s/mi). I've read that it's possible to determine this gain through the maximization of one of the terms of the first derivative's equation of the sliding surface. Can somebody tell me how that maximization could be done?

You have an item whose purpose is control technique concerns an integrator performing similar to a sliding mode controller when the system is outside a boundary layer defined by the controller, while the other is sliding mode control of coupled tanks using conditional integrators.
