For the past nine years I have been investigating outbreaks of a novel agent which appears to work via indirect immune manipulation. These outbreaks lead to extended periods of higher deaths and medical admissions.

In the UK the absolute number of deaths, and age standardized mortality rate reached a minimum in 2011 and then suddenly began to rise - in total contradiction to all actuarial forecasts. Condition and age-specificity is evident.

If an unexplained increase in deaths or an unexplained increase in age standardized mortality has occurred in your country are you able to do some research to see if this is due to outbreaks of this agent.

Much appreciated.
