Hello everyone,
I have been imaging and analyzing mouse pancreas islets. Across 4 different groups, I recognize that there is a significant difference in the content of white/blank space inside the islets.
In groups that the mice pancreas health was challenged (STZ model), there is more white space. This seems to be a marker of less healthy cells, but I am hoping in pinpoint what these spaces maybe biologically (lysosomes, vacuoles, shrinking cells, etc).
All tissues was processed, stained, and imaged in the same way.
What could this white space be on a biological level?
