I like the systematic procedure of grounded theory. Initial findings suggest that my initial "theory" is in line with other existing theories. I did a literature review before starting analysis and found this has influenced the way I approach my research question.

I know that grounded theory means to discover theory/concepts but I just can't help or ignore the fact that the vast literature can help explain my findings.

Is this still in line with the grounded theory principals?

I am basically planning to use existing sociology theory to explain a phenomenon in the environmental field.
