I've just got my electricity bill, and seen the breakdown of what we used and what our solar installation fed back into the grid.
Frankly, it made the self-congratulatory effusions of the power companies about how 'green' they were ring a little hollow.
We used: 334kWh We paid: $105.10
We fed back: 540kWh We were credited: $63.72
Yes, the power companies are getting greener by the day, and why? Because we are supplying them with green electricity at a fraction of the price at which they resell it.
No wonder they're encouraging everyone to install solar power - each installation represents years of guaranteed free income, for the expenditure of absolutely nothing.

If only storage were that easy...
Li-ion is ridiculously expensive, so lead-acid gel seems to be the only solution - especially if you want to store as much as you use.
