Well, if you are coming for grad studies at a good school in US, you should have a sound GRE score apart from all other academic qualifications. I couldn't get the logic behind such importance of this test. It has verbal and quant section. Do you think if somebody scores 165+ out of 170 in quant. section (basically school level math), he/she is well prepared for the level of quantitative analysis required for grad studies? Yes, verbal section reflects your writing skill and vocabulary.
