Graphitization of the carbonized materials
1.0 g of the carbonized materials and 0.5 g FeCl3.6H2O were added to 100 mL distilled water. In addition, the pH of the solution was adjusted 2 by adding HCl. The mixture was stirred at 60 C for 5 h, then left for one week for gradual evaporation of water at room temperature, and finally dried at 100 C for 5 h to achieve a black solid material. Can anyone help with the mechanism it undergoes?
As, I understand your problem, the carbonized material undergoes dehydration, polymerization, atomization and then nucleation which results in formation on black solid material.
