When testing for model fit in CFA/SEM, I am examining the estimates for Chi-Square, RMSEA, CFI, TLI, and SRMR. If I get an adequate fit for CFI, TLI, and SRMR but 0.10/0.09 for RMSEA, instead of continuing to modifying the model, can I say an overall adequate fit was found?

For example:

RMSEA - 0.10 [0.09-0.10]

CFI - 0.94

TLI - 0.93

SRMR -- 0.06

OR

RMSEA - 0.12 [0.11-0.13] / RMSEA - 0.09 [0.09-0.11]

CFI - 0.99

TLI - 0.98

SRMR -0.03

Do you continue to modify the model to reduce the RMSEA value?

Also, what should be done next if longitudinal configural invariance is not established for one of any scales in a large study?
