I need to substantiate this statement with good and recent research, but everything I have is not explicit about it. I know it's true because I've seen the very poor state of sidewalks in literally 100+ cities, but I need an actual reference to say "they also say that". The statement is the following:
"In many places, pedestrians do not have access to safe sidewalks or pavement"
Any ideas on good references?
Perhaps you should search for technical reports from specific municipal authorities. In EU for example there was (is?) funding for Urban Accesibility Plans (e.g., see: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/settling-strategic-urban-accessibility-plan-step-by-step-vpgjf/, https://www.scientra.gr/en/services/urban-accessibility-plan/) which require a review of the current state - But you have to find a cople of them and cite them.
